Our mission is to empower consumers with market knowledge so they can make better real estate decisions. We use data and technology to bring transparency to the market, and we were the first in Canada to make sold prices publicly available. Today, proprietary data and AI help deliver real-time insights into market trends and home valuation estimates. With rapid word-of-mouth growth, HouseSigma now has more than two million registered users and over five million monthly web visits.

Where we came from

HouseSigma began with a simple idea: use data science to make home values easier to understand. In 2014, co-founder and CEO Joseph Zeng left a major telecommunication company to pursue entrepreneurship and started building an early home-valuation platform with HouseSigma co-founder Reed Zhao.
After a detour building WeShare, the team pivoted back to real estate in 2016, building a website and app aimed at empowering consumers with transparent real estate market insights, which became HouseSigma.
The platform gained traction in 2017, then hit a major inflection point in 2018 when a federal overruling of board-level sold-data restrictions sparked a viral wave of site traffic in Toronto. HouseSigma undertook a string of expansions to other Ontario locations, such as Ottawa, London, Hamilton, and more, and soon became ubiquitous in Ontario real estate searches. It has since expanded to BC and Alberta, with Nova Scotia next on the list.
